Art Wolfe has, throughout his career, carefully controlled the printing and framing of his prints. With the advent of digital printing, high quality inks, and archival papers, the control is now exclusively done here in the Art Wolfe studios.About The Open Edition Fine Art Prints
Art has carefully chosen a select group of images for his Open Edition Fine Art Collection. Once selected they are carefully scanned, then printed on EPSON Premium Photo Luster paper using archival EPSON Ultrachrome inks.
For prints that are purchased framed, after each print is approved, it is then mounted with photo corners onto acid-free, archival fomecore and then double matted with white acid-free, archival mats. Art then titles and signs the top most mat. It is then assembled with a brushed silver, aluminum frame containing UV-protective glass.
For prints that are ordered without framing, Art signs his signature on the print with a silver acid-free pen.
About The Limited Edition Fine Art Prints
Harkening back to his arts education at the University of Washington where he excelled in watercolor painting, Art realized that the new digital technology offered the opportunity to print his photographic images with the same sensuous tones and textures realized by painting.
Art has carefully chosen a select group of images for his Limited Edition Fine Art Collection. We feel that these images are the ones that most lend themselves to the look of a watercolor painting. Once selected they are carefully scanned, then printed on Somerset Velvet watercolor paper using archival EPSON Ultrachrome inks. After each Print is approved, it is then titled, numbered and signed with a hand deckled edge applied around the perimeter of the image. The print is then embossed with our Limited Edition seal.
About Interior Design
A photographic print must complement and enhance interior design. Color and pattern are usually more significant than subject. To help interior designers find the images they need, we mined Artís million plus images with an eye toward those criteria. You can search our print archive by color, theme, or pattern online. Or, schedule a viewing at the Art Wolfe Gallery where we can create a lightbox of images on a large flatscreen matching any color scheme or design requirements you and your client wish to consider.
Some subjects demand room to breathe: a series of vertical trees, an expansive horizon, a recurring pattern. We selected Artís strongest panoramas for the print collection, unique centerpieces that draw the eye and maintain interest.
For prints that are purchased framed, they are assembled with a brushed silver, aluminum frame containing UV-protective glass, and acid-free, archival mat boards. Each image is limited to only 50 pieces per size.
