Created with a film camera in 1983 on Kodachrome 64, this image of an Arctic fox on Ellesmere Island/Umingmak Nuna remains one of my favorites, so much so that I have included it in several books over the years. It’s hard to resists the color and eye contact. I love the catchlights from the setting sun in its eyes and you can just feel the soft fur. It was a very calm moment and the pastel colors reflect that mood.
For the collector: this image was created on film and featured most recently in Art Wolfe’s book Wild Lives.
Art has carefully chosen a select group of images for his Open Edition Fine Art Collection. They are printed on EPSON Premium Photo Luster paper using archival EPSON Ultrachrome inks. Art signs the print with a silver acid-free pen.
