Desert Fire

Himba women, Kunene Region, Namibia
Himba women cover themselves in a red mixture of ochre, butterfat, and resin called otjize. It protects them from the sun and insects and is strikingly beautiful. They are also known for their elaborately braided hair, also embedded with otjize.
