In Mongolia, a bö or idugan, goes into a deep trance to form a bridge to the spirit world. With drumming and chants, they communicate with deities and ancestors. Suppressed for 70 years during the Soviet era, this ancient tradition has since seen a resurgence due to its enduring meaning and value to people in this part of the world.
