When You Sweep, Sweep

“When you sweep, sweep,” says the Zen master. A Buddhist monk sweeps an entrance to a monastery. I framed this contemporary moment in time with the ancient elements of the door while the gently falling snow softened the whole composition, evoking serenity.

Provenance for the collector: this image was featured in the TV show Art Wolfe’s Travels to the Edge and the books Travels to the Edge: A Photo Odyssey and Earth Is My Witness.
